If you commit a crime, you can be convicted on circumstancial evidence. If the police illegally finds evidence without a search warrant, you'll go free. You committed the same crime, but different tactics to catch you will make all the difference in the end.

You sound like one of those people who say we can't "cancel" accessed rapists because they haven't had their fair trial in court yet.

Fandom isn't entitled to due process coalie, holy shit. Just because heeroluva was exposed via an exploit doesn't mean we have to throw out the knowledge and treat him the same like the actualfax law. He hasn't been sent to jail.

His life isn't even ruined! I bet he's got a new account and signed up to Yuletide with no drama. Shit, based on how upset you are on what happened to him like he's Brock Turner or something, you could be him lurking coal!

A dedicated handful of FFA wankers are infinitely more upset about rule-breaking than they are about racism or its affect on people.

AYRT

Wtf? I'm not at all upset what happened to him. I was arguing with AIRT that I understood mods putting a lid on nonnies outing authors via an AO3 exploit and that it wasn't the same as saying "this person has the same style as fawatson, it's probably them".

Comparing this situation to how we feel about accused rapists is tasteless as fuck.
