It's a faux-pas if you're like, "I plan to write a more fleshed out version of this later!" or anything that implies the author only got this version because you ran out of time.

It's probably okay if you just talk about wanting to turn this into a series building on the premise if it's some kind of AU or if you're hoping to write a sequel or something.
