I have no idea if it's the majority of people, but I do see a lot of people in exchange circles who say that a major reason why they do exchanges is because they'll never finish writing anything unless there's a deadline.

I personally don't procrastinate because I'm not a fast enough writer to reliably turn out a decent fic if I don't start early. But I 100% do need the pressure of a deadline.

Uh... aside from it being a pretty common thing just because... nonnie, you do realize this is a classic symptom of untreated ADHD and other things that lead to executive dysfunction, right? Things that are extremely common and underdiagnosed in fandom. Yes, duh, a lot of exchange participants will be like this.

DA I wasn't going to mention ADHD because I fully expected to get dogpiled for making excuses, being lazy, and generally all the same shit I get all the time in the overworld, but dang this is such a mood.

no, most people (read: majority, over 50%) literally submit things right before the deadline in almost every situation possible. class assignments, fic assignments, the list goes on...
