The book seems to have only been published in the UK, too. I looked it up because it seemed like something I could read and throw up a minimal fill in an afternoon, but there are only three copies in any libraries in the entire US (and given which libraries, I doubt I could even get it via OCLC. The Amazon and Abe copies all ship from the UK and given givens I wouldn't count on them arriving in time. In theory there's an ebook but I can't find anyone selling it. There are UK pinch hitters but that really reduces the pool.

Not available on the high seas?

I haven't looked because I don't sail the seas much anymore now that I have fifteen ebook library cards, but if anyone knows of a small, literary, uk-friendly port and posts a link here it would probably greatly increase the odds of the pinch hit going.

I'm dubious an official-release ebook really exists though and it doesn't seem like the kind of thing somebody would be super motivated to home OCR and share.

It is! Okay I got an epub that seems usable, if it's still unclaimed by the time I get off shift tonight I'll read the book and claim. It has a "Guide to Cyberspeak" in the back just in case you don't know what FOAD or EYHO means, it's adorable.

This claims to sell the ebook?

Looks like eBay has a copy from a US seller?

Re: Four IPHs left

(Anonymous) 2021-10-26 03:06 pm (UTC)(link)
They actually seem to be a UK seller with a US division to make it look like local shipping, given all the text about "made with recycled materials right here in the UK!"

But someone who knows ebay should definitely give it a try.

Do YT mods ever ask people to add requests, or is that not done because it's for rare fandoms?

All y'all who are broaching this because you're so thirsty to see all the requests need to simmer down. FFS.

so what if we are. thirst is perfectly natural. gimme the requests i want to TREAT

Good for you. No one is obligated to add a request they don't really really want just to accommodate your impatience.

Start one for one with a letter.

DC. It's a legit question, although I'd rather see the requests posted than pressure the outstanding IPHs to add prompts. I've picked up lingering IPHs in other exchanges before, but only after I had a chance to consume the canon.

(Anonymous) 2021-10-26 03:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I hope the mods let us see all the requests even if these IPHs keep lingering.

I just want to see the other requests for my assignment so I can borrow an actual prompt :(

Is it a new fandom? If not,

I checked the everything app already, but there's at least one other new requester this year.

Re: Four IPHs left

(Anonymous) 2021-10-26 04:07 pm (UTC)(link)
My sympathies, coalie. Are there canons (not necessarily YT-sized) with a similar feel that you could crib ideas from?

Re: Four IPHs left

(Anonymous) 2021-10-26 04:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Not really! The only other nommed fandom with a vaguely similar setup didn't get any requests. But just dancing around in coal like I have to pee until the door opens will work too.

Re: Four IPHs left

(Anonymous) 2021-10-26 04:10 pm (UTC)(link)
It was bound to happen once they made requests visible at all.

Re: Four IPHs left

(Anonymous) 2021-10-26 04:12 pm (UTC)(link)
If you don't like seeing it, you could try starting another thread. If it's more interesting than this, people will glom on to it. "Stop talking about this!" is an historically poor way of directing conversation.

go back to ffa and let us help each other find the actual canons in peace
