Probably so the pool of pinch hitters will focus in the IPHs rather than combing through the requests for treat possibilities

Also so everyone has an assignment at the start. If I understand it correctly, IPHs aren't instant defaults, right? I thought they were just something the matching app spills out because either there were no matches or all the potential matches already have assignments.

Yeah, they're either the people who have no matches or whose every possible match was used for someone else. (Interesting there was a Murderbot request when there were three dozen+ offers! Must not have been many "any"s.)

The prompts were pretty skimpy. I tried grabbing it anyway. No luck!

With such a huge pool of PHs, that makes little sense. I love Yuletide but some of its rules are stuck in the past.

Just because no one has picked up these PHs yet doesn't mean the pinch hitter pool isn't huge. There are way more people signed up to the PH list or reading it that there are signed up for YT.

There was a time when we didn't get the full requests at all. And then until I think the original deadline. And then we didn't get it until assignments had been out for a few weeks. I think you can handle the old rules and waiting, like, two days?
