Would it be wanky to sign up for drinkswap and DNW coffee and tea? I've never done swaps before and that one looks the most my thing.

But I love all kinds of hot drink mixes from Bovril to spiced Tang but do not love the flavors of coffee or tea. Which is part of why the idea of getting a packet of interesting new hot drink options always appeals! But I can also see why getting a DNW coffee and tea match would be bad for some people, if that's mostly what the swap is, and I also don't want to risk just getting, like, a packet of Swiss Miss because my match isn't aware of options other than coffee and tea.

DNWing the main opinions is always some level of problem (imagine what you would do if your recip had DNW gen and ship) but if you gave examples of drinks you do like (“I love chocolate, spiced drink mix for ciders, water flavorings and infusers, and soda mixes!”) then that negates any burden you may have otherwise placed on your gifter by taking the big two off the table. Tea and coffee will always be easier but as long as you give them some guidance its not a dealbreaker.

Since it is hand-matching, you should be fine. You'd get matched to someone who offered to send things other than coffee or tea.

I read through the sign up and it looks like there isn't even any option to mention you'd enjoy things other than the big three. So probably not my thing, alas!

yes, there is: the box at the end where it says "message to the mods" or whatever. You could even email the swap mods mail at yuleswaps(at)gmail.com and ask if you can sign up.

Right after filling in all the radio buttons where I had to say my #1 preference is one of the big three and my #2 preference is something I actively don't want I can fill in a little comment box where I say "actually all that was a lie, I want stuff the sign-up does not acknowledge the existence of".

I mean they'd probably make do if I did it but the sign-up makes it clear it's actually a coffee, tea, cocoa exchange. Which is fine! Just not my
kink.

The #2 preference says to leave it blank if you don't want anything but your #1 preference.
