The priority on treats to the point that people are calling it bad modding to have requests revealed a few days after assignments doesn't hit right for me. Just move it back to the deadline. Anyone who really wants treats can just post to the letter post.

Download something like Ghostery or Adblock. I think Safari browsers automatically block.

If you have anything that blocks trackers in general like coalie above said - if your browser doesn't have it there's all kinds of add-ons.
Or you can go nuclear and basically block everything except plain html just to be sure.

It still won't stop old-fashioned image based hit counters (unless you also block images) and if the person has their own domain and can see referrer logs and stuff they'll still see you. But blocking JavaScript trackers with a privacy add-on will work for most stuff.

Exactly. I really don't think not releasing the requests is making people more likely to pick up an IPH. It's just making everyone annoyed lol, either from wanting requests released or being annoyed at the people who want requests released

No. As an example:

Letter A: I know a lot of fic has Bert bottom, but I would like him to top, please!

Letter B:I know a lot of fic has Bert top, but I would like him to bottom, please!

Both claims can both be true, and if you've ever fought in the top-bottom wars, you also know that one of the people might have vastly overestimated how much top!Bert there is.

+1. When YT moved the requests-being-released date from the deadline to earlier points in the writing period, people didn't suddenly stop taking pinch hits, so why assume that would happen for IPHs?

It's not enforceable, and honestly it's an assholish and entitled suggestion. I would default on that person in a heartbeat and take my chances, or write them the most ODAO milquetoast navel-gazing shit imaginable.
