Atypical characters to be requested, but prompts are very much in line with what's been requested before. It's also a relatively new fandom, so unsurprising that my recip is the first to request these characters.

This isn't really that wanky, but this letter did reaffirm my decision not to offer the Oxford Time Travel series since I would have only offered characters from the Doomsday Book and despite selecting any, the recip ask that no elements or plot points specific to that book be included.

Will you still be permabanned from yuletide forever for deleting your fic?

That was the rule when they moved from the old archive to ao3 but I don't know if it's still in effect or if we've switched to a different model

Strongly considering doing so this year. My recip requested nothing but t4t and trans headcanons and I'm cis and don't want to fuck up or disappoint them by writing cis characters.

You can still pay your sensitivity reader/editor/bigotry-picker if you don't make any money off the work.

Compensating then fairly for that labor is more important than your chance to turn a profit

Tbh you could just write the characters as they appear in canon, tag for trans headcanons, not mention anything going on in the pants and then remove the tag in a month. #Transfem!canonciswoman and #transmasc!canoncisman or whatnot.

The recip is probably not going to be able to tell the difference

I'm still in the process of reading Doomsday Book, so it might be a good idea to avoid any elements/plot-points that are specific to it.

My assignment is fandom typical but the request is a lot sparser than most prompts. Definitely dodged a weird DNW bullet, though. Someone who requests this fandom every year has a DNW that would be very hard to write around.

I think the conclusion was just not to use one, not to demand free labor from anyone. Though we're all getting that from writers in this exchange, fanfic isn't for profit. At least not on ao3.
