+1 I haven't read most of the fics for one of the pairings I'm hoping to get for Yuletide... because it's all smut, and I don't read het smut. Yuletide is my way of getting a fic I'd actually want to read when the fandom otherwise isn't delivering.

I enjoyed this game! I got WolffyLuna and while I don't know any of their fandoms, one if them is a five minute fandom that seems pretty amusing and I especially like their meta prompts. I'd keep this assignment.

If it's a small enough fandom and you've written a portion of the fic, it's not information you need to hunt down, you just know! Although it doesn't bother me as long they're not, like, disparaging of what exists or implying it isn't there.

I am very glad that I almost certainly will not, because I used to mod a discord server with this person on it, and they are very... difficult indeed (or were before they blocked me and flounced in a huge snitfit).

Pretty sure they're 18 exactly (they may or may not have flounced from the server I modded because I reported them being underage to one of the Yuletide discord mods last year. They were claiming to be 17 at the time, and very much had to be constantly told off for for things like "maybe don't post your gofundme with your entire wallet name and location on a discord server of total strangers" and "no, it is not a good idea to encourage your fellow teenagers to take nude selfies").

I never read fic outside of exchanges these days. I don't have the time to sift and I have too many small fandoms to trawl through all of them regularly to see if a) there's any fic, and b) it's well-written, and also c) it doesn't contain any of my squicks or triggers. Exchange fic isn't necessarily going to fulfill b, but I can find my fandoms easily in a handy list, and common DNWs are more likely to be tagged. If I read your work during an exchange, I'm more likely to look you up and see what else you've written after, and I'm likely to subscribe to you, but unless you've posted this ship to an exchange I'm in, I have no idea you exist yet.

Or the fic doesn't suck but isn't to their taste, which is why they're requesting the pairing for Yuletide, where their writer will hopefully write to their likes and prompts.

If you're not willing to do that, then they aren't shooting themself in the foot by putting you off, they're dodging a bullet.
