Personally, I would feel like I hit the jackpot as a recipient if my writer had written something that I had liked and wanted to write for me again.

I've got 3 possible recipients (could be 2 since I don't know which characters one of those people requested) and 2 possible writers (assuming that characters match).

I love you artists who make treats! I got a wrapping paper art treat one year and it was amazing. I (eventually) wrote a fic based on it as a gift back to the artist.

Writers: 0 or 1, depending on if, in the one fandom that has a visible offer, that offer includes the unusual character combo I'm requesting (I would guess probably not).

Yes, the mods will reach out to you if you can't write for anyone. I wouldn't worry about that possibility too much right now, though -- there's still a few days left in sign-ups.

the rate would be too variable to track I think, but yeah there's usually a big rush of signups on the last day and it is traditional to gather around the coalfire and f5 the count.
