The vast majority of time, people who write OOC genuinely believe they are writing in character.
True. There are plenty of fic in the archive with 'OOC' as a tag, and I am deeply grateful so I can avoid them. I think people wouldn't write intentionally OOC fic as a gift unless it was unrequested.

Yup, if you look at their letter tag, last year was basically the same as this year minus hellraiser, and the year before was pure Dracula. They know what they want.

If I want to request all the characters in the tagset plus worldbuilding… how do I do that? Should I do 0 characters and say I want fic with all the characters or with worldbuilding? Or request 3 characters + worldbuilding and say I want fic with all the other nommed characters, too?

If you're saying that you want your writer to be required to include EVERY nominated character all in the same story, and there are more than 4 nominated characters... you can't do that. You can only request 4 characters max. You can mention in your optional details/letter that you'd be happy to see any or all of the other nominated characters show up in the story, in addition to the ones you requested, but you can't force your writer to every single nominated character into the story they write you.

If what you mean is that you'd be happy with fic about ANY of the nominated characters, then yes, you can select 0 characters, and your creator will be free to write about any of the nominated characters (and/or worldbuilding).

I'm an artist coalie that likes to look for art treat requests on Wrapping Paper. I filled an art request last year, and I really enjoyed it. You're interested in requesting art treats (and don't want to put your prompts back into your letter), I'd be excited to see them on the mini-challenge post!

10 writers offering my fandoms and 4 I can potentially write for.

Two of my four offers don't have any requests yet. I hope that changes because one of those I reeeaaaallly want to write for, even if it's just a treat.

It's too wanky. Just put the detail of what you don't want, save the OOC part of it. No one fully agrees on what "OOC" means.

I'm not combing through letters to make sure the characters match so assuming those do, possible writers and recipients are both five. I expect both of those to tick up, I know a bunch of people who will likely at least request some of my offers who are still working on their sign ups.

I have many, but I'll always particularly treasure the year I wrote a smutty treat for my BFF, who had been having a spectacularly shitty time with her senior year of college. This was very early days, and treating wasn't nearly as much of a thing as it is now - and it especially wasn't a thing for me. I had no confidence in my writing and could barely handle one assignment! But I banged that thing out on Christmas Eve (before accompanying my parents to their "midnight" mass at 10pm). Not only did she love it, but she apparently had NO IDEA AT ALL that it was me, right up until author reveals, when I got a very surprised and effusive second comment. I was so happy and proud of myself, which was especially great given that I'd been having a shitty few months myself, trying to navigate post-college life.

(Years later, my BFF is signed up for Yuletide for the first time more or less since then, and I'm super happy about it, so I'm feeling all the warm fuzzies in general.)

I blitzed the first half of a nostalgia kid's series in two days right before noms, nominated it, and am now desperately trying to find time to blitz the other half before signups close.

6 possible recips (2 different fandoms) and two possible writers (2 different fandoms). One of my tiny fandoms has got someone else offering it so now I have no clue which fandom my writer will go for.

Back when things were on the old website and when you submitted your fic that was IT, no editing, I finished my fic within seconds of the deadline. The fic was very well-received, which is great, but nothing else has ever matched the euphoria of beating that clock.

October is traditionally a canon binge time for me. I guess the cozy fall brings it out in me, but being able to avoid all of the -tober challenges on AO3 and twitter/tumblr is a nice bonus. I just mainlined a bunch of TV shows and read a book series, and I have two more shows I'm finishing up. I didn't wind up requesting or offering anything from those, especially since one is Ted Lasso and I really doubt anyone needs me throwing my hat in either direction for that, but I'll definitely be keeping my eye out on the requests for treating.
