I want A more but I had to say the other one.

If they're both from you it doesn't matter to me.

In general all YTers can be divided into the following four categories

1. Like receiving fics more than writing, but willing to write for fics
2. Like writing fics more than receiving, but are at least minimally interested in receiving (otherwise they'd exclusively PH/treat)
3. Like both in approximately equal amounts
4. Hate both, but are still here for some reason, maybe they love suffering.

Maybe someone someday will do a survey to get a breakdown of what the percentages are.

Aww. I'd love it if someone felt like this about my fic.

I think they only had it that one year. I started in 2006, and I didn't have to write anything to get in.

I think you need

2a) at least minimally interested in receiving
2b) need an assignment to stay focused

And a 5) actually do only PH/treat

I'm just as happy with B

Also 6): varies based on year.

Because I definitely fluctuate among all of those.

I was trying to find non-obvious ways to break that line and realised that one was perfect.

I just realized that we can never close posts at 42069 comments because that is forty two thousand not forty two hundred

Now I am sad

Socks are bad (for the sockholder) if they get caught doing yuletide sins

Tag "WWII European theater complete with Nazis" "holocaust reference/depiction" "fictionalized depiction of real genocide" or similar and you should be ok assume you're not/the recip isn't kinking on the Nazis.

Man, I've received Lots Of Treats and I have to say it is in fact pretty awkward/difficult for me to give them comments of equal quality. It's not a bad problem to have per se but it is mentally exhausting sometimes.

The diamond shoes really are very tight.

Writing pet peeves that make you feel irrationally angry

And to somehow convey the false impression I love them all equally, since otherwise the perfectly innocent authors who wrote the perfectly fine treats I don't love quite as much will get their feelings hurt*, which I don't want.

*If they're neurotic enough to compare my comments

Re: It was a simpler time

While your experience is valid, just to give a counterpoint: I've gotta Lots of Treats, some of them creeping close to 10k and combined in the 40k range and I still commented within 48 hours. I never lie in comments, so the fics I had less to say about I just said less, and the ones that I super loved got multiple comment boxes. I had a great time and would love for it to happen every exchange. People are different and there's no way to know unless you ask or maybe do some inferences on their comment timestamps. Commenting is fun for me, I read widely across the collection anyway so leaving Lots of Comments is something I'm already doing, and my reputation is still solid even though I don't force myself to leave the same comments on all fics regardless of quality. And yes, the fics that aren't great in hindsight definitely got an assist for being a part of a Lot of Treats and my goodwill was high. The halo effect of the amazing fics helped shine the unpolished.

OP here to inform you motherfuckers that it's not apologism, it's apologia

Also double line breaks between paragraphs. Does anyone have css to collapse those dudes using a site skin?
