Hershey's has a distinctive and gross flavor. It's the ubiquitous cheap chocolate. We have plenty of fancy chocolate too though, and it's similar to chocolate in other countries.

I guess it depends on the ship too. But unless it bothers heavily on noncon or is OOC for the ship/thematically very out of place in the fandom, I wouldn't consider it opt-in.

In my opinion, vignettes work well if you're going for a character study or a relationship study, or maybe even worldbuilding, but not for types of fanfic that require plots. Unlike the other anon, I absolutely hate it if you condense 10k of fic into vignettes as a shortcut, but I don't mind if vignettes are what you wanted to write in the first place.

I created a sock specifically to make the dumbest requests I could think of, because I thought it was funny. The sock wasn't low-effort or anything (there were letters and fairly detailed prompts), but all of the prompts were really goofy and sometimes deliberately contrarian to the general mood of the fandoms. I eventually gave this up, because the effort:humor ratio was getting unfavorable, but in retrospect this was probably a dick move.

(For the record, the sock fulfilled all her assignments, posted a few tweets and pinch hits, and left prompt positive comments on every fic she received. Well-behaved, just with godawful prompts that I thought were funny.)

This wasn't in Yuletide, but I once had a posted pinch hit get mod-defaulted because I accidentally forgot one of the requested characters. The recip went to EPH, and I'm still mortified about this.

Snacks. I'm eating barbecue-flavoured chips, drinking apple juice and writing all the fic.

IMO, fic focused on holidays appropriate to the canon are opt-out. So like, Hogswatch Night if you're writing Discworld, some Gethenian holiday for Left Hand of Darkness, etc. Just don't go inserting like Christian mythology into canons that don't have it, and if you're writing for a canon set in our world, more or less, don't attribute real-world religious beliefs (especially Christianity) to characters who don't have them.

Only if the recipient requests it and the canon supports it. So, like, no holiday fic for Star Wars (unless your recipient asked for worldbuilding) -- the canon doesn't support it. But if you're writing for The Crown and the recipient seems open to it, well, you know the characters are Christian and you know they celebrate holidays and what those holidays look like, so go for it.

holidays that your characters have canonically celebrated are opt-out, any other holidays are opt-in (like, don't assume your characters celebrate Christmas unless it's clear that they do)

Really, coal should just pick a song and try to get the whole thing used for titles of different fics this Yuletide
