I have exactly two fic titling settings, perfectly fitting terrible puns I thought of before I even started writing, or else a random but hopefully vaguely thematic word/phrase ganked from the fic in a last-minute panic. "Aftermath", "Beginnings", "Nightmare Scenario", "Old Wounds", "Revelations", yep, I've shamelessly used all of these blandly generic suckers in that moment of hovering over the posting form going, "Oh, crap, this thing still needs a title and summary." If I'm feeling extra fancy I might try to google for proverbs or poems or something that include my theme word.

Not a 1:1 match but:
- 15 Years is about a gay Jewish couple and is in the tagset.
- Eyes Wide Open wasn't nominated but is an angsty Orthodox Jew affair.
- Out in the Dark is a film about a Muslim/Jew relationship and the Jewish actor plays the son of a rabbi in Shtisel, which has some slashy potential but no canon gay. Neither of those are in the tagset.
-Minyan is another gay film about a teen in the 80s growing into his gay identity while also helping out with religious services so his grandpa can stay in a rent-controlled apartment managed by a rabbi. Not in the tagset.

Kushiel's Legacy: Melisande

For anyone who hasn't read this book, Melisande is the antagonist, a powerful woman who masterminds an invasion of her own nation for power. She is the scion of an angelic bloodline of dominance and consensual sadism. Her interactions with the protagonist, a young woman who is a sub and divine prostitute, are essentially a series of D/s scenes. Every time we see Melisande in canon, she is using her beauty and natural dominance to control and manipulate those around her.

Oh good, there's a canon-specific clarification: I know it’s very weird of me to say no BDSM/Kink as an absolute no considering the content of the books but I love the larger world and the characters deeply and hopefully it can still work.

Depends on the plot.

If you're trying to fit a 10k idea into 1-5k I appreciate and don't mind vignettes so you can fit in the whole story. I've seen people give the OK in their letters for their author to write scenes from a "bigger" fic if they don't have the time for it, but I know some people still want a beginning, middle, and end and there's where vignettes come in clutch.

If your idea isn't secretly a 10k fic or all the vignettes aren't telling a larger story, just write full scenes and call it a day.

For me, a vignette contains content that could have been expanded into a full scene but wasn't. If your scene barely stands on its own and you can't think how to reduce it, you should be keeping it a full scene because it'll probably be worthless as a vignette.
