jk i thought of stuff

1. how many prolific authors write in new fandoms or stick to fandoms they know across the years
2. how many prolific authors write for new people or stick to recips they know across the years
3. if longfic authors are more likely to receive longfic gifts themselves
4. the size of fandoms that attract prolific/longfic authors (would there be no fic if they didn't treat or do fandoms already having fic written receive treats more)

Adding on to #2, since coadie knows who the recips are, how many people get treats every year vs. first treats (in a while) could be fun too. I'd be interested in knowing how many people got at least 2 fics. "Of the 2020 works, 390 were at least the second fic to users who hadn't received more than one gift in 2019 or 2018."

1) I tend to offer/write at least a few new fandoms for the assignment fic, and stick to fandoms I either I know really well, or are in my wheelhouse for treats. If I don't immediately have an idea looking at the prompts, I move on. This often results in long fic.
2) Personally, I look through the list of requests by fandom. I don't tend to look by recip. Though I do check if I've treated that person before in a past year (and response). And for that matter if they've randomly come across my fic and commented as a general indication of whether they're going to like what they get treated.
3) Sometimes. But I do get treated most years, and I have been treated by people I have treated, which is by no means coal.
4) For me, it's not the size. It's the familiarity, or comfort with the new to yuletide "fandom".

1. I tend to write in new fandoms almost every time, though two of my Yuletide 2020 fandoms I'd written first for ToT 2020.
2. I mix between new people and people I know. The prompt, whether they comment on gifts, and how needy they are are more important than knowing them in namespace.
3. I've written 2-3 longfics over the years, but never received one.
4. Size of fandom doesn't matter. It's the length of the idea the prompt sparks.
