i suspect so, once i do the big 2021 scrape so that i have per-fic datapoints! i did that set of stats images earlier this year, but with more time series-y data you could see things like how the basic statistics have moved over the years re: mean/median/etc and draw things like a histograms of buckets of wordcounts (1000-2000, 2000-5000, 5000-10,000, 10,000+ etc) over time and other things i'm sure more stats-y people than me can dream up!

NC

This sounds MAGICAL. I look forward to seeing the results, whenever they happen.

Oh yes, someone did a wordcount bucket list by hand earlier, and I was picturing several histograms that could come from it!

I also love the idea of tracking people over time (from the lists) and seeing if there is a solid core of prolific and/or longfic people, or if it is much more transient.

Another cool one would be to see if the prolific authors and prolific fandoms overlap or are ships passing in the night. Do the prolific authors make a few certain fandoms prolific, or are they all over the map? (I think someone mentioned that one person wrote, like, all 6 fics in one fandom, or something like that? Is that an anomaly, or do prolific writers tend to cluster?)

I have no idea if maddness numbers or NYR numbers could be factored in somehow without just so much more work/time on your part.

Percentages and pie charts are also always fun.

The scraper I use can be pointed at any collection, so it's not too much work at all.
