Questions thread

because I have a question

In a request letter for book fandoms, is it clear what I mean if I DNW "sex scenes more explicit than canon", or is that ambiguous/wanky? For the books I'm thinking of, all the sex is either fade-to-black or a paragraph or two of vague description.

Who made that gift art of a tarot card with dicks on it? I can't find it.

Chances of my random crossover ship getting attention if I don't write a letter?

(Anonymous) 2020-01-02 05:27 pm (UTC)(link)
No. K-Popsicle is Australian and a friend of a friend of a friend of mine. No connection.

Very low, unless someone is specifically keeping an eye on that crossover ship.

To be fair, your chances are probably still low with a letter.

0. Write a letter.

It's not wanky, plenty of people DNW things beyond canon-typical levels (I usually see this for violence/gore), but it could be seen as ambiguous.

I'd either make the exception more restrictive like "DNW explicit sex scenes (canon-typical fade to black is fine)" or DNW sex scenes all together. When you try to explain the gray area in between a DNW and what's acceptable, the more confusing it gets imo.

DC +1 to the suggestion of "DNW explicit sex scenes (canon-typical fade to black is fine)" -- I think that's much clearer while still getting across what you want vs. don't want.

I'll be requesting fanart! I just won't get to my signup until the weekend.

Low. I’ve gotten into and written crossover ships based on great letters that give a good sales pitch for why they would be good together, and leave a bunch of prompts to give me ideas. But without that, I’m going to skim past it.

With crossovers, there are too many unknowns for me to feel confident that I will write something you like unless you tell me in detail how you like it.

If you include some intriguing prompts in your signup, I could see you still getting treats, esp. if there's an app this round.

Without prompts, I think it's unlikely.

I'm not writing a letter for my wacky crossover ship, but I'm 99% likely to be an initial PH, so I figure that will give the ship enough exposure.

There's someone who put in their signup, "DNW (for both creating and receiving)- nsfw, sexual content in general, omegaverse/furry/anthro themes, genderbending, aging/deaging part of the ship, incest, minor x adult."

I hope they realize that's not how offers work!

We can see the offers? Or are you a mod?

DC The person put "DNW (for both creating and receiving)" in their requests, which is what coalie is looking at. And it's not how offers work because it's in the requests.
