He says in comment replies to the Ikea fic that he wrote it while procrastinating on his main assignment. While we've all been there, I think in this case he should have worked more on his main assignment, because I'm not sure the plot actually finishes.

Ugh, that Eagle fic was so awful. And why a homophobe like him would even offer the fandom in the first place is beyond me. But then again I guess not, since it's not as if he's ever cared about his recips.

I've never read The Eagle of the Ninth or watched the adaptation, but I'm curious about what makes the fic especially bad, in the absence of giant neon clues like cannibalism and dewclaws. Explain the badness?

Did you click the link...? Just read the fourth section of that coalie's comment; that should be more than enough to convey just how terrible it is, even though there's additional things in the fic itself.

I did. It's more fun to rubberneck over extreme weirdness with a bit more context! If you don't feel like indulging me by supplying it, though, I can't complain. It's not like it's your job or anything.

Like, I get that it is very weird and breaks suspension of disbelief for one character to be singing things that are actually modern songs. And the way the viewpoint character describes the woman he's in love with sure is a choice. But I don't get why it's so weird that they're on a road trip to Wales.
