What are you hoping to have come out of reveals, coalies?

Successfully become friends with your author/recip? See who wrote the fic you hated? Be lauded as a good egg for writing amazing stories?

All of the above, to be honest! I want to find out who wrote one of my gifts so I can read everything they've ever written, and find out who wrote the other one so I can avoid them forever. Post-reveals recs or good egg comments are the dream of course, but unlikely. I'd love to make friends with coalies through the friending meme, too.

Hoping my author's someone I've never heard of before, and has written a dozen things in my favorite fandoms that I can now devour!

Also hoping my assigned recip is happy to discover I'm their author. They wrote an AMAZING gift for me a few years back, and I offered one of their fandoms this year specifically hoping to match them so I could (try my feeble best to) return the favor - but for all I know, they don't remember me at all. So I probably shouldn't bring any of that up in my replies to their comments. Except if they do remember me, surely it would be even weirder to reply with a comment framed like they're just some rando ... /o\ F U C K /sinks an inch at a time into the soft welcoming quicksand of neuroticism

I'm almost certain I know who one of my authors is, and I'm so insanely happy about it I could burst. If I'm right, it would be completely killer if we could interact some way outside of Yuletide, as I've admired their writing for a long time and they apparently seem to like mine (given that they've commented on/recced two of my works).

I have no clue as to who my other author is, but they're also beyond awesome, and I'd love to continue the back and forth we've been having in our very lengthy comment chain elsewhere.
