People like this have already told their followers. There's a BNF I used to follow who always told her friendslist what she wrote during the anon period. Her followers obediently went to whatever Yuletide-popular fandom she wrote for this time and upped her stats to above what the other stories had. She did this every year she didn't default. I can't even be mad. How bad of a writer do you have to be to stoop to fluffing your stats every year?

If stats can be fluffed then why do you consider them at all?

Personally, I don't when reading (usually because I check the tag in my fandoms pretty often and sort by last updated, so I catch most fics pretty early on before they accumulate kudos, hits, and comments), but sometimes when seeing your own versus a writer's who isn't that good... it hurts.
