To save this person some unneeded hits: it’s in 1st POV and is gen.

Oops.

I already knew I was burned out on 20somethingK of the Bougie Part of Massachusetts, I shouldn’t even have tried.

DC I appreciate this, as someone else who wrote first-person gen that got rec'd and is getting a lot of hits from people who bounce off immediately.

CYRT I don’t know why people don’t give full details! Anyway I hate both those things and wouldn’t have clicked had it been mentioned. Even though its a “don’t need to know canon” rec I think they should’ve mentioned the name too, honestly.

cyrt I know! In my case the reccer at least did say the canon and that it was need-to-know-canon kind of work, but it still made my hits go up with no kudos, bookmarks, or comments added.

(It's a long-tail kind of fandom, and the recip seems to have loved it, and the person who rec'd also apparently loved it. So overall, this is very diamond-shoes-too-tight of me to complain about.)

Thank you. I don't mind gen but first person in fanfic is a dealbreaker.
