Brought to you by the Tahani/Eleanor space AU for The Good Place, which is tagged Alternate Universe - Space and Crossovers & Fandom Fusions, but not with what it specifically is, which is a Fifth Element fusion. I suspect people aren't clicking because they figure it's a fusion for a canon they don't know (I was figuring Charlie Stross's Accelerando, based on the title) -- or they are clicking and then backclicking when they realize it's for Fifth Element.

Also, expanding the tentacle porn (ok, tendril porn) elements enough to make it M-rated and then advertising said elements in the tags might have helped.

Me, for writing in the exact spirit of the canon instead of making characters sad and awkward per this fandom's taste.

Lol! Good for you though, no need to bend to fanon.

Speaking of tentacle porn, the Ursula/Ariel fic DOESN'T HAVE ANY. Twice as many tentacles! No tentacle porn!

Wait, what? That was on my to-read-list for the rec of tentacles but now you tell me there's no tentacle porn, just tentacles that don't serve their rightful purpose? I feel cheated.

cyrt

Right?! I was utterly bewildered. (Granted I presumably would have been less bewildered if I'd looked at the rating to begin with.) The tentacles are just there as a reason for Ariel to hang around Ursula long enough to be ~corrupted! The closest we get is a couple of casual and pretty chaste kisses!

Meh. I mean it still sounds sweet and it's femslash, so I might still give it a try but I'm definitely less excited about it right now.

NC There's straight-up a scene where they brush tentacles and Ariel shivers because hers are so ~sensitive, and yet! No porn! I guess I should've checked the rating, but every "Look! Tentacles!" rec I saw really made me think it was gonna be porn.

It's rated Mature, and I have no idea why. It's Teen at the MOST.

This happened in my fandom too. No sex, no violence, no other adult themes. It was probably vague allusions to a (canon) incest pairing, but they didn't even touch or talk about it in the story! And I thought I was an over-cautious tagger.
