I know that (and I'm trying not to hold whatever patter I'm noticing against non-wanky typographic apostrophe users), but it happens suspiciously frequently that I see wankers using typographic apostrophes.

(My theory is that it's not actually a coincidence, but that it's often the same person.)

Unrelated to wank, but I don't get it. I googled and the explanations make no sense. Can you show me an example of a typographic apostroph next to one of a non-topographic apostroph?

You may want to look up curly/curved/smart quotation marks.
