I have both written and enjoyed fanfic for fandoms like, let's say, Hogan's Heroes where the whole point of the show was making fun of Nazis. Most of the Nazi characters were actually played by Jewish men who had to be convinced to do it. And the stories I have written have shown some of the German characters as sekritly anti-Nazi and working toward that end. The stories I've enjoyed are the same.

I'm genuinely curious if this makes me an asshole in some people's eyes, given the whole Desert Peach discussion. I would hope not, but if so, I'd love to discuss it.
