I prekudosed a fic partway through and when I got to the end I was like “...where’s the next chapter, that wasn’t closure!” and now I can’t decide if it’s artsy or unfinished. It was long though!

I will never understand "prekudosing." Trust? In this economy?

I was more than halfway through and thought, “at least I’ll do this much now”... like a fool

Right?! Outside of exchanges, I might kudos an in-progress fic once I reach the end of what's posted, but tbh, I don't go out of my way to read unfinished fic, so even that's rare. But a completed fic that I haven't finished? Even if I like the first chapter(s), that'll be a no from me. I do comment on each chapter as I go, though, so maybe that's why I don't feel the need to give the author a boost partway through.

Sorry, coalie. I meant it to be arty, but I think I might have failed. If it was me, it was supposed to make thematic sense to finish with a lot of mystery left.

The positive thing is that after I kudosed and got back into reading, I was immersed enough that I didn’t want it to be over quite yet when I got to the end. I didn’t comment because I didn’t get it.

It's unfinished poorly disguised as art.

The last chapter wasn't coming together and I ran out of time, so I slapped an artsy final sentence on there and called it a day.
