I actually preferred the other fic, the one that gave a fully-fleshed backstory for the Genghis Khan music video. Still thinking about that fic 24 hours after I read it. So so good.

Huh, really? The writing style of that one didn't work for me. Seemed too much tell than show and there were a lot of clunky-looking paragraphs. Guess it's a preference thing.

Yeah it's definitely a preference thing. However I will say that the fake-dating author really played up the tropes though and wrote a 7k fic tailored to their receip, and probably made the recip super happy. That's more than I can say for a number of authors (including my assigned one).
