Me, but it's a fandom of one and I'm sure my recip has other stuff going on so I'm not fretting for a while yet.

Me! And no kudos! My recip misused "Any" on the fandom we matched on, so I consumed a different canon just for them. (I did the same last year for my first Yuletide for a different reason and had no regrets so I thought it'd be ok.) I should've known when they updated their letter with lots about their poor mental health and how they love character x because his poor mental health reminds them of themselves, but I thought I could make them happy writing their fandom of one OTP. Silly me.

The person who wrote them a late treat must be even more masochistic than I am, though.

Me. :( My recip has several other gifts waiting for them, too, and they're supposed to be a good commenter, so I'm assuming they just haven't had time, but I figured someone would have commented by now.

Me, but I knew it'd be the case going in. I wrote something with massive spoilers (and an A/N warning of the massive spoilers) for the latest installment of canon in a really small fandom. The total potential audience for this is already tiny, and most of the few people who are out there won't have consumed the new canon yet.

I'm not even sure my recip has consumed canon yet -- they said they would be consuming before Yuletide or I wouldn't have written them something with spoilers, but who knows, it's busy season. I'm amazed I have a kudos, tbh.

Me! Not expecting any, but I'm still refreshing my stats page waiting for one to magically appear. :(

Me :( trying not to be too antsy about it (it’s a super small fandom so I don’t think it’ll get attention outside of the recip) but last year recip commented within 12hrs on their gift so now I’m maybe panicking a little, I hope they didn’t hate it.

Me! But I'm not holding my breath. If my recip couldn't be bothered to comment on their last three gifts, they probably won't bother to comment on this. And it being a tiny fandom, no one else will either. Maybe I'll have better luck in chocolate box.

Me! It's a yuletide first for me and I'd feel pretty shitty about it but my recips got a flaky comment history and I'm the only commenter on my excellent gift fic so I'm trying not to assume it's a quality thing.

Me. And no kudos either. It's not a fandom of two, so I guess the fic just sucks that much. I feel pretty bad about it, actually. :(

Put it in 3T1L and you might get some kudos or positive feedback?

I feel you. My fic isn't doing great either and it's not a tiny fandom thing, so I'm a little bit sad.

I do have a bookmark. Come back and tell me you liked it, person! A few words will do. ~~I'm assuming it's not one of those "I'm bookmarking to avoid this fic forever" people.~~

I have one with no comments, but the recip commented later in the anon period last Yuletide too so I wasn't expecting much.

Update: They showed up! And I got another comment too. Yuletide win all around.

Me. TBH, though, I’m not expecting my recipient to leave a comment, in part because they were mentioned in one of the placeholder letter threads. I’m not bothered at all.

Me :( my recip hasn't interacted with the fic at all, and gave me serious lurker vibes when I got their prompts/checked out their AO3, so I'm not holding my breath. I have a comfortably-sized subscriber base and I know more people will read the story once it's un-anon, so I'm just sitting on my hands and waiting.

NC You're lucky. :( My subscriber count is below 20 so I don't have luck there either.

there's a fic that's a crossover with a big fandom, plus my assignment was a rare character and requested gen, it's not going to be noticeable at all

Is there a way to check whether your recip is prone to not commenting?

Look at their "Gifts" page and look at the comments on the stories people gave them in the past.

Me. I'm starting to suspect my recip was not as cool with darkfic or crossovers as their letter suggested.

Me. My recip's commenting history is all over the map, though, so if they do show up it will just be a nice surprise.

I stuck close enough to their prompts and headcanon that if anybody else comments it will be a shock.

I already posted in this thread but it's day 3 and I still have no comments. There are kudos and bookmarks, so I'm beginning to feel that people are holding off out of misguided politeness because my recipient hasn't commented (or kudosed) yet. Anyone else in this situation? I'm not gonna lie, it's starting to feel pretty lonely out here.

Yep, I'm still there, too, nonnie. IDK that it's people waiting on my recip; I guess people just aren't excited enough about the fic to comment. I don't think this has ever happened to me in an exchange before, not even past Yuletides.
