Oh. Aww. Second person, that page of Tumblr tags, and OOC characterization and dialogue. Bonus unrequested daddy kink pops up at the end.

The recip was gracious and sweet, and they've got a non-recip comment which is more than a lot of people have. Something for everybody, I guess.

I've read this story despite the eye-searing formatting, and what's bad about it is bad, BUT it started out perfectly fine, and I think at that point the author actually cared about conveying some emotion and angst. It's frustrating to watch it go off the rails when it didn't have to.

There are a few lines of shitty dialogue that are so OOC I think the writer has a tin ear for it, but aside from that and the slip into second person, it could have been solidly . . . okay. Nobody would have brought it up on coal.

That A/N at the top about Tomas being confused and it made them confused so the story turned out sloppy, that's what irritates far more than the story, and more than the story the sloppiness is something worth bitching about. There are so many mistakes and oddities, and they couldn't even take the time to format it properly. If they'd taken just a little more care with it (and had somebody read it who knows the fandom and would have scratched out Tomas' lines like "can I blow you" and "is that a challenge daddy?" that seemed to come out of fucking nowhere, like a daddy fic punched this one and left DNA behind), it would have been a story like so many others in Yuletide and not stood out for bad reasons at all.

I think they dashed it off, called it done, and made the A/N as an excuse not to have to do better.
