You don't seem to be grasping that they didn't break the rule. Check the Yuletide rules. Nothing says that every character has to be a main character with equal attention.

Except both characters are featured in the fic, just not equally, and the recipient liked the fic. Technically no rules were broken, and more importantly, the recipient got a fic they admit they like.

If you’re sure the author did nothing wrong then the mods will smile and say thanks to the recip and do nothing. The author will have no idea it happened.

If they did do something wrong, then your interpretation is wrong, and the mods will do something to make sure the author isn’t as misinformed as you are.

Is this not a win/win situation and why the mods encourage proactive communication???

It's not about whether the author gets punished or not. It's about coalie acting like an entitled child because she liked her fic but maybe not as much as she would have if one character had a bigger role. I think that's bad behavior. I think that's a shitty attitude. I think that maybe you should accept a gift you actually like graciously instead of whining that it could have been better.

In ToT it is bad behavior. In Yuletide she if asked for two characters, no shit she would have liked the fic more if she actually got two characters. It is what she signed up for.
