I hope my author isn't an impatient one who's been fretting since the reveal (was 3am my time) waiting for me to reply, because I've just read my gift, and I'm so absolutely fucking blown away by it they're going to have to wait a little bit longer to get my comment. I have to reread it slowly a couple more times just for the joy of it and to let everything sink in, then write my comment carefully to be sure they know how much I love what they did. It's a thing of fucking beauty, coalies, and when I'm done I'm going to rec it here and not even care that it outs me. *wipes eyes with dishtowel*

But also remember, your recip probably didn't. The odds are against it. Everybody in coal (and everywhere) tends to think every comment might be about their story. It's human nature. Usually wrong. Chin up!

It's not gotten many hits or comments, so I guess not many have seen "The Ritual." But for my requests/prompts and my ideas about the characters and story, it's god damn perfection.

Well, I've seen The Ritual, so I will check it out!

I've read two of the remaining three stories in the fandom so far, and they are both great in their own ways. I realize one might not thrill its recip if they didn't want outsider POV that's kind of light on the canon character (while being about him). They might love it, but no way of knowing. It's good in its own right. The other Luke-centric story is immediate post-canon and it's fantastic. One left to read that has to wait a bit.

The Ritual fans got a bounty from Yuletide. And I feel like they're all for me.

I've since read the last story which was for a request about Moder and what happens to the cult. It's wonderful, too.

Four stories for The Ritual; four faceted diamonds in my stocking even thought they're not all for me. No coal to be seen.

It's so nice to see Yuletide miracles where a recip gets the fic of their dreams. Every PH should be this way!
