Linking to a user on AO3

How do you achieve the link that has the AO3 logo next to the name when linking in notes? I can do a regular html link, but would prefer to do that kind and am clueless. Thanks!

Do you mean on DW? It's < user name=USERNAME site=ao3 >, with the spaces removed near the angle brackets and USERNAME replaced with the person's AO3 name. Please note this doesn't work for AO3 pseuds with spaces in them, so in those cases you have to use the person's base username (which isn't allowed to have spaces).

I'm trying to link it that way in the notes of the story, and it doesn't work. Just shows blank for some reason. I'm using their pseud with the underscore instead of the space as shown on their profile.

Can you paste the exact HTML you're using (surround it by <pre> tags)? Also, just in case - this only works on DW, not AO3.

That's my problem, I was trying it on AO3. I've just gone ahead and linked to their page normally.
