As another crazy person, sometimes I wonder if I’m the only one that prefers characters with mental illness? I don’t like “actually Loki is on the spectrum and that’s why he’s an asshole” fic, but if someone has textbook behavior I’d rather them just be what they are rather than “weird” or “evil”. It feels like the difference between “gay for you” and just making a character gay/bi, if that makes sense...It gets tiring seeing someone being completely x and the narrative acting like it’s a unique thing when there is a whole field of diagnosis.

Anyway bluh sorry rant.

Don't be sorry, I actually agree with you on this! The fic I'm talking about has a psychiatrist giving a character antipsychotics because it's easier than dealing with her, on the suggestion of the character's daughter. :/
