So, after posting my treats, I learned that treat elevation was a thing, and it looks like it happened to two of them: two recips have no other gifts. I should remove the "This is a Yuletide treat" in the A/N, right? Or do I live in hope that their writers just got extensions?

I would personally remove the note that it's a treat. Unless you want this person to know their treat got elevated.

Yeah, I would remove the A/N. I generally wait to make sure I'm not the only gift before adding anything like that to my treats.

FWIW, the treat elevation isn't the only scenario. it's also possible that your recips defaulted and wouldn't have gone out to PHs either way.

Pinch hits are still going out, too. Afaik even if a recip has a treat, they'll still go out as a ph at this point. Your treat will only become a gift if the alternative is an emergency pinch hit within a couple days of reveals.

That is incorrect. The works deadline is the point at which treats start getting elevated to main gifts rather than people being sent to PHs even if they have a treat.

Yep. Treats that were posted before the deadline to recips who posted a story and didn't get one are elevated to main gifts. There are a couple people here on coal who have mentioned that their treat recips didn't get a story and did not go out as pinch hits, even.
