Coalie in Post-DeadlineLand

Coalie was beginning to get very tired of waiting for their gift to be posted, and of having nothing to shake: once or twice they had peeped into the tags of the fic their dentist had been gifted, but it had no characters or freeforms on it, "and what is the use of a fic," thought Coalie, "without ships or tags?"

Sorry if this question is very YT 101 but it’s my first time! How do you shake the tree? I just saw mine was posted and now I can’t wait til the 25th to peek. (Thanks coalies!)

Go to the Fandoms tab of the YT19 collection. Find the fandoms you've requested and open them up in new tabs. Use the Sort and Filter thing on the side to look at the tags - for example, if I look at Captain Marvel, I can see that four fics are tagged Post-Canon, two Humour, so on and so forth.

Obviously this is easier for some fandoms than others - if it's a fandom where you're the only one who requested it, it'll be very obvious indeed, whereas there are 14 Captain Marvel fics so it's difficult to work out what tags belong to which fic without additional filtering.

also, within the fandom page there's a "find gifts for" button on the top. obviously even when you're only looking at your own present that won't actually give you work details but you can still look in the filters for tags.

Hey fellow first time coalie! I responded to a person on FFA asking so I'm copy-pasting:

a) Go to your gifts page.

b) Right click > Inspect element on the mystery work for Yuletide 2019.

c) It will say something like id=work_[series of numbers].

d) Go to Yuletide works page. Put 'id:[series of numbers]' in the 'Search within results' field.

e) Check the filters sidebar!

\o/ Have fun, hope you love your gift!
