Coalie was beginning to get very tired of waiting for their gift to be posted, and of having nothing to shake: once or twice they had peeped into the tags of the fic their dentist had been gifted, but it had no characters or freeforms on it, "and what is the use of a fic," thought Coalie, "without ships or tags?"

To be strictly fair, they *did* ban the Nazi requesters this year. Or at least, that was the result of banning Nazi related requests: so long ars_belli and fellow Nazi lover whose name I've forgotten.

My impression (and it is just an impression, no inside knowledge) is that Morbane and the new mods are more hands on than Jenn etc, and certainly 1000x more than the extremely CoN elynross. I guess we'll see in a week or so, but I'd hope they deal better with DNW breaches this year.

You say that, but morbane has publicly stuck up for all the big wankers from the deathfic DNW to ff_d’s letter waiting fic to gaybashing dragon, with her modhat on and off. Banning Nazis is definitely a step in the right direction but it’s a fake cover for what they should have just done, which is singling out ars_belli. They didn’t have to publicly shame her or anything, but she should have been told hey, you take Nazi kink beyond the fictional realm of even RPF and as such are not welcome here, sorry. They singled out Trump specifically rather than a vague “problematic world leaders” or whatever - they clearly know how to be specific and just ban the actual issues, and I wish they would just do it for everything. There is a thing in the rules that says the mods have the right to do whatever they want and we all agree to that by signing up.

They didn't ban specific people, just topics for this one year.
