It's an attack on a group of people. People who are part of a group are going to respond when you attack the group, it doesn't really matter what you're accusing them of and isn't verification that they're actually that thing.

If you were talking about misogyny in a vacuum, sure, but you could have easily called them all something totally different and gotten pretty much the same response.
