Did you know the country my parents came from widely used hemp before WW2, to smoke and to craft things, when Americans came in, reformed the post-Imperial-Japan government and instituted a bunch of laws against the use of hemp and marijuana? Oh, but they dumped the heroin and methamphetamine they gave all their soldiers onto our country of course, which then resulted into an even worse drug backlash that led to a death penalty for marijuana possession.
