The broad plot arc stayed the same but a lot of things changed pretty dramatically (including a darker tone, more gore, buggy really leaning in on the horror tropes before he gets chibified, nami's backstory having significant changes, and an entire long subplot about marines that includes Luffy's grandad like a third of a world earlier than his manga introduction)

Personally as a manga/anime fan I wouldn't be interested in requesting it.
