ayrt - the mods actually emailed me asking if I had more information about my DNWs and requests, and said that I could reply with it, or give them a link to a letter. So it sounds to me like it's no big deal to write a late letter. Maybe email the mods and give them the link to pass on to your writer, but it's not like it's "not fine."
