Aha, we meet again old friend! This year we matched on two canons and I considered offering the third. Now I just have to decide which one to write for - one, two or all three? (All three might be a bit weird. But I'm considering it. Coalies, would you think it was weird if you got three gifts from the same writer?)

Good, because I think I already kinda have an idea for one, another one is my favourite character and I've been turning an idea over for them for years now, and the third... well, if I can't come up with something suitable involving tentacles, then why am I even yuletiding?

I got assigned to a person I had already bookmarked to treat, and I share three fandoms with them that I could very easily write for-- and am considering writing a fic each for all three. So if it's weird, I'm right there with you!

(FWIW, I unfortunately suspect the honest answer is that if the fics are decent-to-great, it's not at all weird and flattering even, and if the fics are tedious-to-badfic, it's weird/annoying.)

If I found out I had three gifts in three different fandoms from the same writer, I think my reaction would be HELLO NEW FRIEND BECAUSE WE ARE FRIENDS NOW

Same, and I wouldn't even care if they weren't 'decent to great' - just knowing that someone took the time to write me multiple stories would make me so happy!

I would be so pleased!

But I would not do it again as a writer unless I was very sure about the recip, because let me tell you non commenting recips are exponentially worse if you wrote them more than one thing.

Oooh yes, very true. I know this recip, and they leave pretty short but sincere comments, so I'm not concerned on that front. You're right, though, I wouldn't take a risk otherwise.

I wrote two stories for my recip once, got lovely comments on both, and then a bonus lovely comment after reveals when they found out they were both me. Best feeling ever.
