How many Yuletide sign-ups this year?

Last year it was 1476, a small uptick vs the overall trend where it gradually went down from 1882 to 1449 over the previous six years. I'm guessing it will be up again this year, but not dramatically, so I'm gonna say 1501.

I'm going to say high 1300s low 1400s. There's a lot of FIAB buzz and pressure among the crowd who do as many exchanges as possible, and I feel as though for people in general, this year Yuletide isn't as much a happy distraction for people stuck inside with massive uncertainty as it is one more thing they're having to juggle in a complex world of negotiating protocols and mandates and your antivax cousin and working/studying/living while not sure what, apart from vaccines, helps keep us safe. tl;dr 1389, though I hope it's more.

I wouldn't go that far, but it seems like a lot of exchange regulars are doing FIAB and the one whose name I mix up with Final Fantasy. But there are also a lot of people who do only Yuletide, and I'd bet those are the majority of participants.

Plus people like to procrastinate and defaulting isn’t the end of the world. I’m sure plenty of people with too much on their plate will sign up thinking writing 1k of Yuletide fic can be a writers block buster/procrastination for the longfic exchanges or who have made peace with defaulting if they need to.
