Requested two characters...and a period of canon where they have not met. With a single line that basically just says "X period, please."

I was prepared to write gen between these two characters even though I ship them, and would have been very happy to do so, because I just find their interactions fascinated. And I was prepared (though less excited) to write a character study of one of them if I matched on only one. But this I was not expecting. I think I've already figured out how to make it work, but it's definitely not the most interesting part of canon for me.
